Does Corelex replace my existing live chat or support tool?

It depends on how you’re using it. Corelex handles the full conversational layer: product discovery, add-to-cart, policy questions, and post-purchase support. So for most WooCommerce stores it replaces a separate chatbot or basic live chat widget entirely. If you have a dedicated human support team using a helpdesk platform like Freshdesk or Zendesk, Corelex sits in front of it and absorbs the routine queries, while the WhatsApp handoff routes complex cases to your team with full conversation context already attached.

Does the chat widget open automatically on every page, or just the first one?

Just the first page of each visit. When auto-open is enabled, Corelex launches once, on the very first page a visitor lands on, and shows your configured featured products. It does not reopen on subsequent pages during the same session. You can also exclude specific pages from the widget entirely, such as the checkout page, through the Corelex admin settings.

What happens if Corelex cannot find a matching product?

Corelex includes a hallucination guard built into the retrieval layer. If Vertex AI Search finds no matching products in your WooCommerce catalogue, the agent returns an empty result and tells the shopper honestly. It does not invent products or suggest items that do not exist. This is one of the core differences between Corelex and generic AI chatbots that generate plausible-sounding but fabricated answers.

How does Corelex handle product variants: sizes, colors, and configurations?

Corelex pulls variant data directly from WooCommerce at query time, so it knows which sizes, colours, and configurations are currently in stock. When a shopper asks for a specific variant, the agent checks availability before confirming it and adding to cart. If a particular variant is out of stock, it says so and can suggest alternatives from the same product or a related one.

How does Corelex know the answers to policy questions like returns and shipping?

Policy answers come from the Service Agent layer, which ingests your WordPress pages, posts, and PDF documents from your media library. Corelex answers from that content only. It does not fabricate policies or combine information from outside your site. If a policy question falls outside your published content, it says so and offers to connect the shopper with your team instead. You control which content is indexed and can update it at any time from the WordPress admin.

Can I control which products are suggested as upsells?

Yes. Upsell rules are configured in the Corelex admin panel. You can define which products or product categories are suggested as complements, set conditions for when upsell messages appear, and adjust the tone of the suggestion. Corelex applies these rules at the moment of cart confirmation – naturally, in the flow of the conversation – without triggering a separate popup or interrupting the checkout path.

How does exit intent work on mobile, there is no mouse cursor to track?

On desktop, Corelex detects when the visitor’s cursor moves toward the top of the browser, a reliable signal they are about to leave. On mobile, where cursor-based detection is not possible, Corelex uses scroll-up speed and back-button interception as equivalent triggers. The exit intent message fires once per session on either device, so it never feels intrusive, and it is automatically suppressed on pages you have excluded from the widget.

How does Corelex retrieve live order status? Does it connect to my fulfilment system?

Corelex pulls order data directly from WooCommerce via the REST API, so it has access to the same order status, tracking information, and fulfilment details that are visible in your WooCommerce admin. No separate fulfilment system integration is required for basic WISMO (where is my order) queries. If your store uses a third-party fulfilment or shipping provider that writes tracking data back to WooCommerce orders, that information is available to Corelex automatically.

Is Corelex available in multiple languages?

Yes. Corelex follows the visitor’s browser language automatically, matching the HTML lang attribute of the page they are on. Different languages are supported out of the box, and you may manually add additional languages that you need in your webshop. Opening greetings, quick action buttons, and system messages are all configurable per language from the admin panel. The architecture is designed to extend to additional languages without structural changes to the plugin.

How long does it take to set up Corelex on a WooCommerce store?

Initial setup takes around 30 minutes for a standard WooCommerce store. You install the plugin, connect your WooCommerce store via the REST API, and provision your Vertex AI Search datastore with one click from the WordPress admin, selecting your preferred data region (EU, US, or Global) at that point. No GCP console access is required. The first product sync runs automatically after provisioning.
